MageBytes Pvt Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") respects the privacy of merchants who install MageBytes Schema & SEO ("Application"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we receive, how it is processed, and your rights regarding data protection.
2. Information We Access & Process
When you install MageBytes Schema & SEO from the Shopify App Store, we access specific store-level information strictly necessary for structured data generation and app operation:
- Store Metadata: Shop name, shop domain URL, primary currency code, and shop email address (via Official Shopify OAuth authentication).
- Catalog Metadata: Product titles, descriptions, vendors, SKUs, prices, availability, collection titles, and blog article titles.
- Review Metadata: Aggregated review ratings and review counts from authorized third-party review apps (e.g. Judge.me, Loox, Yotpo, Stamped, Okendo) configured on your store.
- Application Configuration: Merchant shipping rules, return policy days, Local Business address details, and AI token usage metrics.
3. How We Use Collected Data
We process the store metadata solely for the following purposes:
- Generating 100% Google-compliant JSON-LD structured data tags on your storefront.
- Writing Application configuration settings to Shopify App Metafields (
magebytes_schema.settings). - Generating AI-assisted FAQ question & answer pairs via OpenAI API integration when requested by the merchant.
- Performing diagnostic scans to detect and prevent duplicate schema tags across your storefront pages.
- Synchronizing subscription plan status via Shopify Billing API.
4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We never sell, rent, or lease your store data to third parties. Data is shared strictly with secure infrastructure providers necessary for app functionality:
- Shopify API: For fetching store catalog and writing App Installation metafields.
- OpenAI API: For processing merchant-initiated AI FAQ generation (only non-sensitive product/collection topic text is processed).
5. Data Retention & Automatic Deletion
We retain store settings only for as long as the Application remains installed on your Shopify store.
Upon receiving an APP_UNINSTALLED webhook notification from Shopify, our automated database cleanup protocol erases your store’s schema settings, session tokens, and database records in full compliance with Shopify GDPR requirements.
6. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security safeguards to protect your store data, including SSL/TLS 256-bit encryption for all data in transit, OAuth2 authentication, and isolated database storage.
7. Merchant Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Under applicable data privacy regulations (including GDPR and CCPA), merchants have the right to request access to their stored application settings or request explicit deletion of stored configuration data by contacting our privacy team.
